Dr. Manas Shome is the Director and Principal Engineer at Shome Engineering Inc., bringing over 30 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic engineering, both in Canada and internationally. A highly respected professional in his field, Dr. Shome has led numerous complex water resources, municipal, and environmental projects—ranging from floodplain mapping and stormwater management to river engineering and infrastructure design.
He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Ontario. Known for his leadership and technical excellence, Dr. Shome has served as an expert witness in regulatory hearings and continues to contribute to the profession through research, innovation, and education. He also teaches “Applied Hydrology” at the University of Alberta and has been recognized for his outstanding teaching contributions.
